"This book is a must-read for anyone looking to use nutrition as a tool for healing and long-term wellness. I am grateful for the knowledge I’ve gained and will carry it forward as I continue my path to recovery."---NetGalley Team
"Hatch’s experience lends the book authenticity and credibility, and her approach, which she describes as “using a soft, feathery touch instead of a hammer,” is a welcome departure from more punitive self-help weight loss and diet strategies". --Kirkus Review"
"'(T)he author took time to explain certain things, that they made sure to say that there's no one answer, or a one way to do recovery, to do life after cancer."--NetGalley
“As a cancer professional, I highly recommend the In the Pink book to both patients and providers looking for answers after such a devastating diagnosis. This text provides evidence-based dietary recommendations and delicious recipes in the framework of lifestyle changes. I have first-hand seen the benefits of following this program. Countless patients of mine have been able to sustain life-changing weight loss when few believed it to be possible. This book has provided these patients with the tools to embody the true definition of the word survivor.”

I received the book, “in the PINK: A Breast Cancer Surviver’s Guide to Healthier Life,” by Laurie Hatch, RD. The author is a Registered Cancer Dietitian and breast cancer survivor. I then purchased this companion Journal to help track all the information presented. I find the food/diet and exercise/movement information to be sound, helpful, and useful. I also appreciate the author’s ability to encourage better health habits in a positive way. Not once did I feel I was being lectured or being put down for my previous poor choices. Her ability to remind me to have grace with myself as I continue to heal from my breast cancer has encouraged me to make better choices regarding food and movement in my life! I highly recommend the book and the companion journal to any pink ribbon warrior who could use help with recovery through diet and exercise!--Laura R, on Amazon, verified purchaser

As a breast cancer survivor, I had a special interest in this. I think it had a lot of great information in it. That being said, there is often a lot of guilt that comes with having had cancer and it did make me worry a bit about making sure I do the right things all the time. That being said, I think she definitely has a lot of good advise here.---Net Galley Reviewer verified

This is excellent! Author Laurie Hatch has succeeded in demystifying some of the complexities of what to eat during and after breast cancer treatment. She emphasises that we are responsible for our own health and health outcomes. Some of it is tough love, but she also gives us the tools to use when we navigate changes in our diets and habits following a cancer diagnosis. Simple things, like understanding the difference between nutrient-dense and energy-dense foods, can make a huge difference to our food choices. I'll be referring to this book again and again as my treatment for breast cancer continues.
This book is refreshing, accessible, sensible and necessary. Thoroughly recommended!
Thank you Laurie Hatch and NetGalley for the ARC. Opinions are my own.

This is a primer for exploring self care after being diagnosed with breast cancer. The focus is on a healthy lifestyle, primarily diet and exercise, but there is a lot of encouragement woven into every chapter. There are not as many specifics as I would have liked, but I do think this is a valuable book for keeping on track during recovery.
